I am new to this section but I decided to drop in. I bought my 6th lever gun today. It is a Marlin .444 trapper gun. It is a fine piece of work. I will put with my others which are henry golden boy .22, Rossi .45 colt, and my fav's the marlins in 30-30, .357, 35 rem., and .45-70. I guess the sad thing to say is I only hunted with the .30-.30 when I was little. The .357 and 45 colt are used for cowboy action shooting, and the rest are just for fun.

I am probably try to swap out the Rossi for a MArlin in the same caliber if I can find one cheap. After that I do not know what iwill start looking for. Possibly a .44 mag.

It's always good to see another Marlin Lever lover around here. If I may be so bold you might try looking for a Marlin in .375 Winchester or 38-55 I think the 375 model is called the 336ER or M375 something like that. Nice rifles and quite acurate. An aquaintance of mine used his to clobber an antelope in CO last season and to wack 'yotes near his home on occasion.

My lever guns keep breeding. They make me hunt up there offspring at gun shows and on online gun auctions. Most of the time I get it right the first time, but there have been times that I've blown it and had to buy more that one to find the right one.
Just this last week, my Winchesters got together again and I knew something was up. When everything was said and done, I was a little disappointed in that 94. It seems like she jumped clear over to the other side of my safe and got mixed up with a semi auto. I still did my duty and claimed the new one anyway, but damn it looks just like a mimi-14. What a hussy.....
