bayesolid, now that's one cool pic with the pup and the boar rug. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-clappin-yellow.gif The rug looks like it could be hazardous to your health if you had a fall though. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/afraid_face.gif
Satchmo, Three questions.
What does Satchmo stand for?
How did you come up with it?
What does TTFN mean?

Well superduty,Satchmo is actually a misspelling of a name we saw in dog world magazine given to a japanese akita dog. It was spelled sachimo, and I guess due to a slight case of dyslexia, LOL, my husband thought it said satchmo, which as I understand it, is the name of a late great jazz musician. Sounded good and so the daddy dog is named satchmo! TTFN, that's me saying "tah tah for now" or in other words, so long. TTFN superduty, Cathy P.S why are smilies not working? and what have you done with the mrs.?

Satchmo--- Most of what I have are Catahoula crosses of one kind or another. The pup is a Catahoula/Bulldog, and is showing alot of signs that he's gonna turn into a top-notch dog. I had to get out of bed the other night because I heard the pup bayed solid in the front yard, and he was really hammering away out there. I had to pull him off, and he didn't come easily, the most menacing looking toad I've seen in some time. Yea, I know, http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-rolleyes-green.gif but the point is his whole outlook on life is revolved around what he can hunt down next.
Superduty---- I'm sure the rug isn't the best thing to have laying around, but I haven't had any problems yet. It's out of the main pathway so after one too many http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-2drunks-singing.gif I don't hurt myself when I fall down. (You have to cover all the bases) I didn't get the front door shut all the way that day and that pup busted in and went to baying the hog rug till he felt brave enough to catch. It's a good start. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-faces-toast-beers.gif

Tiger (from winnie the pooh) would always say "Tah tah for now" as he bounced away on his tail.
I always figured Cathy was a big tiger fan. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-clappin-yellow.gif

I had a guy tell me once that if someone said thier dog was a Catahula they were saying they had "no Idea what kind of hound mutt it is but it gets on hogs". Is there a breed Catahula or is it a "term"?

My uncle used to hunt coons with blue ticks. I remember a friend of his had a Catahula.
My uncle always called them Coon-A$$ dogs. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-hitting-self.gif Guess that's cause there are alot of them in Louisiana.
Here's a site that will help.

Catahoulas are a breed that comes from the swamps of Lousiana and east Texas. I have raised them forever and feel they are just about as good as anything that walks for hogs. In the south people have been free ranging stock for as long as anyone can remember. The catahoulas were the dog of choice to gather these animals. Thr registry for them is the N.A.L.C. ( national assn of louisiana catahoulas). Louisiana is in there because the state made them the official state dog. The N.A.L.C. host a dog show once a year in CA (and several others around the country). I do not know the exact details but the office can be reached at (225)665-6082 for details.
