Lets say I show up at Sutter early Friday morning and I'm say third in line.
Late friday my two buddy's show up. Is it against the rules( A written rule) for them to hop in my truck to get a number ?

Yes, only the people in the car when it pulls in line can get a number in that car. ###It is patrolled pretty well by the folks in line. ###If you try and push it, DFG will send you to the back of the line with no appeal.

Is this an "unwritten rule". If it's written where can one find it ?

I've never hunted Sutter, but at Grizzly and Mendota this kind of thing is pretty much standard practice. ###If it's a written rule, it's pretty generally ignored. ###
Of course, now you go trying to roll a pickup truck into the sweat line ahead of other hunters, and there's likely to be a shootout...especially if I'm behind you. ###;-)
Yeah, Mendota can be pretty bad for this kind of stuff. Often a guy will leave a large gap in front of his car so his buddy can pull in front of him late at night when most people are asleep. Because Mendota rarely fills there isn't a big fuss made over this practice. At a place like Sutter, where there is a very small quota with a high demand, any attempt to cut in line would be met with violence.

So the question goes un-answered ?
I've done it at Griz many times. I was just pondering as to if it was a written rule or one ###of those morel ethical kinda rules.
