Post here why you think Ford trucks are the best.
This includes the SUV's

F350: Because it&#39;s not a Dodge! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-sideways-laff-aqua.gif

I think I will stick my neck out and take the first shot. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/afraid_face.gif Did the Dodge test and didn&#39;t like Trans., Brakes, and most of all Suspension sucked. Might have been just an isolated situation. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-cool-shades-down.gif Did the Toyota thing and have no complaints with it&#39;s 4x4 untill someone decided to take it from my front driveway. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbs-down-little.gif As for the Chevy&#39;s, I&#39;m the first to go Ford in my family. I just don&#39;t get too see them anymore that I don&#39;t frequent the family reunion&#39;s at the local mechanic shop!! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-hair-raisin-blue.gif I put my truck to the test and beyond frequently and have no complaints. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cross-fingers.gif That is unless somebody takes it from my driveway also. : http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-gunfighter-yellow.gif http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-gunfighter-yellow.gif

Like you SD,
I&#39;ve driven just about every truck out there and the only thing other than my Ford that has impressed me is Toyota but it still can&#39;t touch my Super Crew.

Ford&#39;s just ROCK! I have owned nothing but fords for the last 14 +- years. Every time I purchase a new one it is because of choice and I have purchase two new ones ever two or three years. My wife and I both drive about 30+K a year and have very rarely had to put them in the shop for anything that we didn&#39;t do to the trucks ourselves, like accidents, normal tune ups etc.. Just since 93 I have driven 6 different trucks.

Ford was more comfortable than the chevy&#39;s and dodge&#39;s and I do a test drive of each before I buy a truck and every time I have gone back to Ford. The breaks are great, not like pushing in a sponge on the Dodge&#39;s or Chevy&#39;s. Tight as a drum without any rattles after 4 miles a days on gravel roads for the last two years and every truck prior has been the same. My wife Had a Blazer that after just 4 months became a rattle trap.

My list could go on for days as to why I keep buying fords over the other two big car mfg&#39;s but Fords don&#39;t need defending THEY can handle ANYTHING thrown at them without my help...or dodge or chevy.

I have a 96 Ranger with 211,000 miles on it. I am just about to have a new(used) transmission put in it. The engine still runs like new. Can&#39;t complain.

Ford are the best because of the rear window defrost. Its nice keeping your hands nice and warm while pushing it . http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bag-on-head.gif

They build fords out of light weight materials so that when the do run they get great milage and when they dont run there easy to push !
ford stands for

I&#39;ve been driving the same truck for the last 18 years. Other than general maintenance (tires, oil changes, brakes, etc) the only parts I&#39;ve had to buy for it was an ignition module, and replaced the U Joints. Not bad for 18 years.

My 75 year old Dad has me beat ... he purchased his in 1970, and he is still driving it.

They are both Fords

For those of you that seem to enjoy anti-Ford acronyms, here&#39;s a chevy one for ya. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-wedgie.gif

I have to say that when I was in the market for a truck I thought about the Suburban, but after a closer look the Excursion had a lot more to offer. Better seats, sound system, oh and I wanted a Diesel, sorry Chevy no competition there Ford is the only one that offers an SUV with a Diesel engine.

The only thing that Dodge has going for them is <span style="color:red">#12[/i]

Ok, I have had both so I can speak from experience. Had a 86 Chevy 1/2 ton that I bought new. Had it for 10 years. I kept it as a company truck even after I bought my New Ford in 1994. The Chevy had 210k miles on it when I finally sent it to the junkyard. Pretty good except for the 6 fuel pumps, 3 transmission and 1 rear end I had to replace. I finally switched it to an electric fuel pump. I had to keep a fuel pump in the truck before I did that. I became an expert and replacing a fuel pump on an 86 Chevy 350 engine.

Since that time it&#39;s been nothing but Fords. The 94 is still a company truck and at 175k and yet to have a major problem. Just the normal, brakes, belts, hoses and the like. Now have a 2003 F-250 crew cab diesel and I love it. It&#39;s the first diesel that I have owned and I don&#39;t think I&#39;ll ever go back to gas. That diesel will pull more weight than I have ever pulled and you hardly know that your pulling anything. I will say that the dielsel is awfully heavy. Sure makes it easy to get the truck stuck. Next time I am definately spending the extra money for the 4x4.

I did test drive Dodge and Chevy before I bought my current truck but they just didn&#39;t have enough to change my mind.

We are definately a Ford family. Mom, Dad, Stepdad,Grandmother, Wife and Daughter are all Ford owners as well. My step dad used to work for Ford and I caught a lot of grief when I bought that Chevy.

In general Fords are just tougher and can take more abuse. I once drove my 94 Ford for 12 miles on no water because I was in the middle of no where. It clatterd alot but never had a problem after that.

I have to tell this story that I swore my husband to never mention. But I think my story goes to show you how tough a ford can really be. We were at a friends house one night and the Mr. had a whisky or 5 and wanted me to drive us home. Mind you, this is before I had my Excursion so I was used to changing into drive by my knee, not on the steering collum. We were cruising along and even though I was not used to driving his big truck I still felt like some thing was just not right. I looked at the dash and I saw that I had it in second, sooooooo while going 45mph I just reached right up and I was going to kick it into drive. Instead I put to much muscle behind it and slammed it into reverse http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/afraid_face.gif

I thought the Mr. was going to cry.....

We put reverse skid marks all over the road. the truck shimmied and shook, even jumped a few times I think and then died.

The Mr. was jumping around too I think...spouting.. Oh my God oh my God, well I guess thats it, youve done it, trucks done for and I think a few of these too @#$$$#@%

When I stopped shaking he said go ahead and try to start it up again. I turned the key and PUUUUURRRRRRRRRRR just like a kitten, or wait maybe I should make it sound a little more manly.......She growled like a tiger!!!

No problems from the incident. I think the truck forgave me, oh and the Mr. too. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-hidin-curtain.gif

I&#39;m on my first Ford now.
I love it so far!
I was a Chevy guy, but I changed when Chevy went to the IFS front end.

So I go my SD CC 4X with an 8 inch lift, and 38 inch swampers AND I&#39;M LOVING IT!!!

Had a Toyota, never again (sorry Toy lovers)

If My Ford keeps going as good as it has, I&#39;ll never change!!!!

I&#39;ve always been a GM/Chevy man. I used to drag race and the chevy small block is hard to beat.

I bought my first Pickup in &#39;97, a ford f-150 XLT because the price was right. I did general maint to it and never had any problems. I did change the U joints but thats normal wear and tear.

Bought a &#39;99 GMC sierra extended cab in 2002. I don&#39;t think it&#39;s a fair comparison(extended cab, three door, leather int etc. etc.) but I love my Sierra. It rides like a cadillac ( took some getting used to) and the little 5.3/327 hauls ass! It will climb the mountains on RT. 70 with the cruise control on, a six hundred pound Atv in the back and not kick out of overdrive.

The window regulator took a dump but aside from that I think it&#39;s awesome!

Our work vans have been ford E series for the past seven years and for the most part have been reliable.

I do miss the ford sometimes, Glossy Black with the chrome package, 4WD, Aluminum Factory wheels, 302, limited slip rear.

As for the old muscle cars, I&#39;ll take &#39;em all! Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, Buick GSS, plym, dodge, chrysler. I can smell the burnin rubber already!

Never had a Chevy I couldn&#39;t tear to pieces in two years. I went through two trucks and my mom&#39;s van. They just don&#39;t hold up. Comfortable as heck, though... until the pieces start falling off.

I was solidly hooked on Toyota, but when I needed something to haul an 18&#39; boat, loaded with dive and fishing gear from NC to FL and back a couple times a year ... well Toyota didn&#39;t offer anything that would do the trick. Now I haul 2500 lbs of horseflesh, plus tack, and still have room for camping in the shell... Toyota still doesn&#39;t offer anything that&#39;ll do it.

Shopped around to move from the Toyota, and was down to a choice between Ford and Dodge.

Bottom line. The Ford is just too danged ugly.

Bought a Ram 1500, drove it hard and put it away wet for five years, then traded up for the 2500 Diesel, mainly because that V-8 was working too hard to get the horses up the mountains.

If I ever need another full-sized truck, it&#39;ll be another Dodge. Why? Because I like &#39;em. Don&#39;t really hate Ford, but it&#39;s fun to rag on the diehards like F350 and Superduty.

Here is what I ordered. F350 XLT 6.0L PSD, Crew Cab, 4x4 and I went with the 5 speed auto. In the year or so the new tranny has been in service, the reviews I&#39;ve read seem to indicate that Ford has got things dialed in.

Ford - Love the style.. But hate em` .. I see more things go wrong with them ..
I like Dodge.. Never heard of to many problem with them... I do have a question tho.. What do the older Single cab Toyota trucks with the V6 and 5 speeds get for milage? ( also 4x4 ) .. With these gas prices.. I&#39;m afraid of a V8 http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-ren.gif

I just can not believe that you guys did not tear me up about my story. I guess I should say Thank you to All!!! The Mr was even suprised that I broke the silence. I guess it just goes to show you how much I support the Ford. And besides, I really think that the dodge is silly looking. Crazy bubbly hood. It reminds me of my dads old 70&#39;s work truck. And to me the Diesel is alot noiseier too.
