How to Upload Video to Computer

I've got a Sony TRV43 (Hi8) camcorder with a single video out and single audio out plug and I'm wondering if it's possible to upload the clips to computer for posting? If so, what would it take in the way of accessories and software? And is it worth the hassel or should I switch to a digital unit from here-on-out?
