Rhodes Canyon

Anyone ever been on the Rhodes Canyon Oryx hunt? I drew the Dec. hunt and was looking for some information.

subfan-----I hunted the Stallion Range. Do you visit monstermuleys? If so, I think vinnihunt got his there & there is a post about Rhodes there. To be honest, there are a lot of oryx on the White Sands. You are going to have a ball !! If a fun hunt .

I don&#39;t know about Rhodes Cyn. not sure where it&#39;s at.

My son was stationed there at white sands for 4 years, I tagged along on a few hunts, the number one problem you will run into is not a lack of Oryx but a lack of nice horned Oryx ones with both horns intack many are broken off one side or both.

They are big animals and taste great http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-faces-toast-beers.gif and good shot placement is a must as they can soak up some lead if not put in the right place, my son took all his with a 270 and once he even let me look thru the scope at one http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-cool-shades-down.gif

There will be NO shortage of animals at least on all my trips there. good luck and don&#39;t shoot the first one unless it&#39;s what you want and or close to a road.

Thanks for the information, I am acquiring all the information I can get as this is a once in a lifetime hunt. The hardest part is the waiting but that gives me a chance to save $$$.
