I finally found a Sky bow. Here is the ad.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Sky Rogue longbows for sale. One is 55#, one is 50#, both at 28". Both were bought last year, the 50# was used for hunting all year. These are the ones made by Earl Hoyt Jr., before Mathews bought them out. Smooth shooters.

The guy is asking $325 each OBO.[/b]

What&#39;s it worth? Does the fact Matthews is going to make these bows again raise or lwoer the value of the orginal Sky bows?

Thanks.

I don&#39;t know, Jesse. But if that&#39;s what you&#39;ve been looking for for a while (as best memory serves me) make him an offer. Good luck. Doesn&#39;t sound too bad to me but I don&#39;t know too much about different prices either.

Doesn&#39;t sound like a bad price, but I doubt they will ever be a real collectable--but I could be wrong. Lots of great old bows don&#39;t really have much of a collector value unless they were limited production, made with special woods, signed, etc.

Bottom line would be is the bow worth it to you? You can get a custom made bow for less, but it won&#39;t be a Sky. Shoot, offer him $200 and see what happens.

Did you get it? If you did, what do you think?

Sweet, it finally arrived. Now to get some arrows to fling. THanks everyone. Also need a quiver. Hip or back? Hmmnm. Anyone know any good quiver makers?

Hey Jesse,

Drop a line to RecurveShooter (Recurveshooter - Herb&#39;s Leatherworks). He made my back quiver, and I&#39;m pretty thrilled with it... both looks and functionality. I&#39;ll have it this weekend, if you wanna see what it looks like.

Art Vincent at http://www.archeryleather.com . He does some beautiful work, and guarantees it for his lifetime. Many styles/price ranges to choose from--if nothing else, check out the site just to look at the paintings on some of the quivers.
