Mallard/Pintail Mix

Got back from Merced for yesterday's shoot. The fog was really close in until about 11:00 a.m. Once the fog lifted, I shot a hen mallard, drake GW, a mama spoonlips and of all things....a drake mallard/pintail.

I took some close up pics and will post when I get home tonight. That is one mixed up duck, let me tell you!!! Hopefully you'll be able to see it from the pics.

My buddy once got a wigeon/mallard mix. It was real ugly looking though. Green head, mallard shaped beak except blue in color and a wigeon styled tail. It was too ugly to mount.
