I wanted to make my Mossberg 500 into a good pig/deer gun. Now all I need is the info to do that. I'm new at this so I don't know much.I know I should get a rifled barrel but for now I will just use rifled slugs. I also know i need the scope mount base, but then what. What's a good magnification for a shotgun scope. Any suggestions, a buddy of mine said I should get 2x Aimpoint or Red dot. I don't really want to spend too much either. So do the rings with clamps come with most scopes? So any suggestions would help. Thanx. Know any good links?

Mario,
You'll do OK with the smoothbore and rifled slugs, but a rifled barrel can help a lot with consistency at the range. Good choice.
As to a scope, you'll want something with long eye relief. There are several good scopes available especially for shotguns. I'd recommend keeping the magnification in the low range. A fixed 3 or 4 power scope should be plenty for any shotgun application.
I personally don't like the electric powered scopes/sights. They're generally reliable, but one failure is all it takes to blow the hunt of a lifetime. Is it worth it? Not to me.
Good luck!

Mario,
The best bet is to get a cantilevered slug barrel. I have a model 500 trophy slugster. It comes with that barrel. The scope mounts to the barrel on an extention that comes back over the reciever. This way if you want to use the gun for other things such as birds then you can just take the barrel off ,scope and all in one piece, and replace it with a bird barrel and your good to go! I use a 2 to 4.5 power scope. It is all you need and is very accurate. The link below will give you a good idea of what you can expect from this setup.

Mario,
I have the same set-up as arlow and I would recommend it as well. I ordered my barrel from Cabela's.
