Finally got out to do some hunting after all the family festivites Christmas day and the next day. We started late and decided we would do some diver hunting first. At shoot time we are putting out the dekes and the scaup are landing in them. The birds continued to dump in for the next 3 hours, and the only reason we didn't reach our 12 bird limit is because the shooting was sub-par http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-rolleyes-green.gif Finally got the 12th scaup and then concentrated on the puddlers. Finshed by 11:30. Total tally 12 Scaup, 1 Widgeon, 1 Teal and 7 Mallards for 3 guys. It rained the entire time but still had a blast. Got home, cleaned the birds, I got to do all 21. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-hair-raisin-blue.gif and going to sit down and watch the end of the football game. How did you guys do in SoCal? http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-sideways-laff-aqua.gif http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-sideways-laff-aqua.gif

Great report Chessie!

It's good you were up north this weekend. SoCalWaterfowler had a 26 ressie at San Jac. He took walker 7 and on got one shot and one bird (GW Teal). He re filled C-2 and I showed up at about 1230. We did not see one bird until 4:40. We saw 3 gadwalls at 80+ yards. Didn't get a shot. It was a beautiful day just no birds. I heard there were 6-8 cans shot. From what I could gather it sounded like there were 86 hunter and only about 38 birds. Glad you got a few up north see you next week.

I have been off for the past 2 weeks due to the new baby. It was good to be back in the field even though the birds were far and few between.

Saw count dracula and friends out there. They got snaked on a can they shot. Some DHWW got their kicks from shooting a can count's friends shot first and put down. The DHWW said they didnt see it and when count's friends went back to the blind the DHWW shot it on the water and took it. They are lucky the locals are as friendly as we are......Good to hear form you ..
