Ok guys I need your advice. I am looking to buy a pair of 8x40 porro prism binocs. My limit is $150 and would like waterproof and long eye relief as I wear glasses. The two pairs I am leaning toward are the wind river mesa and the pentax pcf wp both are about the same $ with the Wind rivers about $20 more when you figure in the pentax rebate. So any opinions on these two or any others to add to the list?
Thanks--Tim
I have a pair of Wind River Cascades in 10X42. I wear eyeglasses and I find that they are very satisfactory while wearing my glasses.

I have some Wind River 8x42 porros. For the money, they are good. Just don't look through Swarovskis before you buy the WRs

Be advised that the Wind Rivers are imported. Nothing wrong with that per se, just so long as you know it going in.
I have Pentax roof-prism binocs I am very pleased with them. FWIW, optically, the porro is a superior design - better stereovisual effect, better optics. They are just bigger and not as "sleek." If you can get past the external aesthetics, the roofs are the way to go.
These people are serious about glass, lots of good advice here: http://betterviewdesired.com
I think Cabelas' Pine Ridge might have something for you. My friend has a pair (I forget which) and he is happy with them.
Good luck, let us know what you decide.

Most all binoc's are imported. I have Wind River roof prisms and have been very happy with them. Pentax have a good reputation - you'd likely be pleased with either of them.
I bought the Pentax DCF WP and I am very happy with them. The only real difference I can see between them and my friends' Swarovskis is the edge clarity. I wear glasses and the eye relief is great with them. But they were quite a bit more than $150.
