Chantilly Sportsmen’s Show "Capital Sport Show"
January 30 to Feb. 1, 2004
at the Dulles Expo Center, Chantilly, VA
The 9th annual Chantilly Sportsmen’s Show, "The Capital Sport Show", will be Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 at the Dulles Expo Center, Chantilly, VA.
The largest ’pure’ hunting and fishing show in the Mid-Atlantic, it is the only show that offers two shows and hundreds of booths, exhibits, seminars and action areas under one roof.
The two great shows are the long running "Capital Sport Show", and the newer, bound to be great, "Old Virginian Fly Fishing Show". The admission covers both these shows where the outdoor public can see the best in the fishing, hunting and outdoor world.
The many features include: ’Bwana’ Jim Molton’s "Have Alligator Will Travel," "The Dog Pond" where working water dogs under Dave Krassler will perform, the Trout Pond stocked daily for fishing, a Gamebird Wildlife Pen, an Air-gun Range for the kids, an Archery range and more!
Free Gun Locks will be given away at the show this year for ProjectHomeSafe, funded in part by a US Department of Justice grant and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). ProjectHomeSafe is a nonprofit
organization that will distribute 20 million free gunlocks nationwide in 2004. Visit them on-line at: www.ProjectHomeSafe.org
The wet and wild action of the Tuna Fighting Pool, under the expert guidance of Capt. Bill Brown, will allow show goers to take a shot at landing a 200-pound "scuba" fish. Capt. Bill’s rapid fire wit and information make this a ’must see’ for the whole family. His demo is geared to all fishing levels.
This show has the greatest cross section of equipment, seminars, outfitters, guides and offerings at the most competitive, thus lowest cost, to show goers.
Multiple Pope and Young Award winning big game hunter Dick Scorzafava will help hunters to down the biggest buck of their career with his deer calling, scouting, tracking, scent use, shooting and antler rattling. Dick writes for more hunting publications than any other deer hunter in the world. Dick has been discovered by the hunting industry’s big hitters and provides insight and knowledge of those products he endorses and has become the voice of the whitetail world.
Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame inductee and legendary guide, Ken Penrod considered by many as the ’Ambassador of Bass’, is now finishing his seventh book and brings his knowledge of fishing to this show.
Ken will give seminars on using the ’state of the art’ fish finding electronics and applying the information with ’good old’ fishing wisdom. Ken will be giving away a Lowrance X-51 Fish Finder, i-Finder GPS, and plenty of Luhr Jensen, Mizmo and Case Majic Stixs at his seminars.
Joining the whitetail program this year is Mike Weaver of Virginia. Mike is ’Number One’ in the world, having put the most whitetails into the Pope and Young Record book, the official record book of archery-taken large game. Mike brings his huge display of monster whitetails that includes more than 40 world class animals. All are the real thing, with no plastic imitation racks included.
Nationally famous deer biologist and behavior expert C. J Winand brings his ’inside knowledge’ to the show with his many years of deer study. Scientific and observational learning from a full-time deer expert will help your whitetail hunting experience for the buck of a lifetime.
Bass fishing book author and fishing pro Teddy Carr will be sharing his success tips in three different topics, one for each day of the show. Teddy makes it a habit to give away plenty of FREE lures and gear from the manufacturers that he is a pro-staffer for. His seminars are: Lake Anna Exposed, Catch all his seminars and grab some of his gear!
Penn’s Woods Game Calls, Steve Lecorchick, will give turkey calling seminars and hunting tips, will cover beginner to expert for this ’grand spring hunt.
Woods & Waters Magazine Pro Team this year is headed up by C.C. McCotter professional Lake Anna guide. McCotter is a ’Pure Fishing’ ambassador that will be representing ABU Garcia, Berkey, Fenwick, Spider and Mitchell. He will have 2004 products and demonstrations and plenty of free goods for attendees of seminars on bass fishing and the gear you will need this spring.
Tim Freese A professional guide joins the W & W team, his fishing includes the upper Potomac, Susquehanna and Shenandoah Rivers for smallmouth bass from a jet boat and raft. Joining him on the team is Jim Hemby, striper guru with live bait and lures, learn Hemby’s incredible tactics for catching freshwater stripers where ever you fish.
Rounding out the team is David Fauntleroy, he asks the question "ever wondered if bass leave shallow water?" Learn this Lake Anna guide’s proven system for catching bass shallow all year long.
