View Full Version : 25-06 Which Rifle Sako or Savage
I've convinced myself that I need a 25-06. Any recommendations on the Savage with accutrigger or the Sako 75 which also advertises an adjustable trigger? Or is it 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other?

I pick........ neither! Especially if you are just going by the adjustable triggers exclusively.
I recommend "handling" several different brands, Sako, Savage, Ruger, Browning, Remington & Winchester to name a few. You may be in for a real surprise at your findings, coming away with a totally different percpetive.
I really do like your choice of caliber btw (for deer & predators). I have owned a couple myself.
Good luck in your search

Savage all the way...for out of the box accuracy they are hard to beat.....I have a
styer sbs.....and i love it.....shoots great.......nothing wrong with a sako or tikka either.......but save yourself some money and buy a savage spend the rest on a good scope.....

If given the choice I am in a quandry like you. I really likethe Savage for the above reason. However I reallylike Sako rifles and they are very accurate themselves. If money isn't a question I would probably choose the Sako. If I am carrying the rifle a lot I may want to choose the lighter of the two.
Sako gets my vote here, but I do like the Savage quite a lot.

My cousin shoots the sako in a 25-06. Nice gun. Buy what you can afford and buy a good scope.

Doesn't most of the other manufactures have adjustable trigers? I shoot a winchester 300 mag and had the triger adjusted from almost 6 pounds to 3 pounds, same with my sons Remington BDL in 243. Why just the 2 you mentioned?
The Savage and the Sako have user adjustable (don't need to be a gunsmith to know how to do it). I've had the triggers on my rifles all adjusted by a gunsmith at $75 dollars a crack. I thought I would like to try one of these user adjustable triggers. There may be other manufacturers that have these adjustable triggers but I don't know which ones.

Savage..........least expensive and the accu trigger has no equals at this point (they are sweet!) both will be accurate but the Savage will save you $ to put on a GOOD scope.Savage has come a long ways in quality and make great hunting rifles.
