Hey folks,

i've got an x10 with one of ****** 1st opto boards that i put together last night.
I can't get it to power up. everything is done as/per the intructions.

I was trying to test it out before i went through the hassle of mounting it .i've checked for solder bridges, wires mounted in wrong place etc etc. I'm at a loss.

the only thing that i've done is to remount the onboard push buttons for test and delay, remounted to sensitivity dip switch, and removed the plug receiver....i like the wired set up better.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks JKOONCE http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-wavin-yel.gif

Check to see if you have power going to the x10 from the opto. I had a similar problem and turned out to be the on/off switch on the opto board was bad.

hi shorthorn,

I've got power to the switch it's 8.o2 volts ....i'm gonna try a new battery ... my other problem was my led ..it had a current limiting resistor inside ....that would also account for the led not illuminating.

thanks james

James,

I'd check the spots on the opto providing power to the x10 to ensure you have power there or I believe there is a diode at the top of the switch you can check for power there to make sure the switch is good... .

Also the led must be installed correctly. Look at ****** pdf file on this. Its hows which leg of the led goes where...

On a recent X-10 I had an led that was bad, switched it with one I new was good and it works now.
