I...uh....I....uh....(gulp)....am quite ashamed to do this, but here goes. It's all about accountability anyways, right?

267.5/268/200

There. Let the crap start flying!

In all fairness, I had a LATE dinner last night. LATE, I'm tellin' you. LAAAAAATE!!!!

I knew this week would be bad. But, I'm not down and out about it. It's just a small setback. I know why I have this result. Three main reasons:

1) Didn't drink enough water. Gotta push that more.

2) Didn't exercise. Got home late every evening, literally didn't have the time. To make matters worse, somebody run over an armodillo where I like to run.

3) Was forced to eat out nearly every time this week. Hard to eat a salad when I smell catfish or steak. And baked potatoes with sour cream. Oh, the humanity. Being at a buffet restaurant doesn't help much either.

4) Ate late several times this week. I mean LATE. LAAAAATE I'm tellin' you.

So, for this next week, I will concentrate on doing the following:

1) Drink the water regularly, even religiously. Even if I wear the commode out afterwards.

2) Will schedule my exercise (like I should have been doing) and plan other things accordingly. Also, have an organized list of exercises and workout reps to follow.

3) Will actually count points (WW style) and watch everything I eat. If forced to eat out, will make myself eat light foods only. God, please help me on this one.

4) Will schedule my eating so that I do not eat late. Or if it can't be avoided, will choose something very light.

Ok, there it is. I flopped this week. Or shall I say, flapped?

Let me have it...

Well this week was not as good as last but still progress.

Started 2 weeks ago 210/last week 203/this week 200 goal of 190 by Aug 1st/ 180 by Christmas.

Welby,
I know what you mean. That eating late is one thing I have really worked hard to stop. I believe that is one of the best things you can do. Also those baked potatoes are going to kill you. Found out those things are like a drug addicts doing drugs. You get a high then a real low. Not good. That's coming from a trainer. Also those little carrots, sorry guys/gals but those are bad for anyone who may be border line diabetic, the trainer says to mix those in with like brocclie and pieces of chicken brest as a salad type thing.

Continuing good luck to all. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-faces-toast-beers.gif (water)

Welby, If you eat late, it does hurt, but the excercise is what really kills you. We need to burn more calories than we take in. Our bodies do a really good job holding onto those extra pounds, and it will change our metabolism to adjust for fewer calories.

The only way to lose it is to burn it. I've had to learn that the hard way.

Good luck though. It's just a setback which will be one small blip on the roadmap to the new you! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-biggrin-aqua.gif

Catch ya later,

Welby - don't beat yourself up too bad. It's a learning process and you just got a good lesson on what not to do. Perfect example of how the weight creeps up on you (and me too) without really noticing it.

As for MrRee....well your on your own there partner.....

Hey MIB - I thought plain baked potatoes were ok, complex carb side as opposed to the processed starches like sliced bread. Hmmm... I'll have to look them up. What carbs is your trainer recommending?

Well, after week 1 for me I weighed in at 233.5. That's a 6.5 lb loss!!!! The doctor was right, wiring my jaw shut really does work. J/K LOL. I did lose the weight though. This is great. Good luck ya'll.

Not as good as I should have been

280/272/250-200

Too many nights hitting the cookie bag. I should eat the carrots, but just not the same. I have started playing tennis twice a week at lunch for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Feels good to get the sweat going. Shorts are much looser.

Well no weight change yet, but then again I haven't actually started the diet. My start date is Monday. Weight now is 200lbs goal is 150lbs.

I did however, wean myself off of sodas and coffee. Went through some pretty fierce withdrawals there for a few days, but my new beverage of choice is water. I managed to exercise for 30 minutes 2x's this week. It's a start I tell ya!h

Monday is the big test, that is when Atkins begins! Hopefully next week I'll have actually lost a few pounds!

Ok, I didn't lose anymore weight this week. I did get to see the scale go down 2lbs on Wed. But as of Friday. I gained back those 2 lbs lost. The last 15lbs are the hardest for me to lose.

Paul C: 1 lbs is GREAT! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-dancin-red.gif It's always best to take your weight of slowly. 1lb a week is a good goal.

awackywabbit: It's ok that you haven't started yet. I liked your idea about giving up the soda/coffee first though. Those caffine withdraws can be torture enough. Have your thought about trying gartorade, or Crystal light. You'll get burned out on just water. There are alot of good drinks you can have. Start reading the labels and make better choices.

fpscabs: PUT DOWN THOSE COOKIES!! If you really have to have them. It's ok to have them. Just don't eat the whole bag. Read the label. How many cookies can you have in a serving? I look for cookies that are low in carbs and calories. With fresh fruit available now. I keep a fresh fruit salad in the frig at all times to help with my carving for sweet and easy food to eat. The last thing I'll grab out of the frig is the carrots. Congrats on the 8 lbs gone. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-faces-toast-beers.gif

m57jager: Well what can I say? http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-dancin-red.gif http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-dancin-red.gif

Welby Welby Welby: You are the mentor of the JHP challenge. We look up to your for being couragous to post this challenge and give us all hope. Don't let us down. I have faith in you. For being a bad boy, carrots and salad for you for the next week....LOL

Everyone should be proud of themself. No matter how much you lost or didn't lose yet. Just making the first step to a healthier you is something to be proud of.

How many cookies can you have in a serving?

Well, that is a loaded question. My good logic will tell me
"Fritz, you have been playing tennis, eating rabbit food and not eating cookies for a week, therefore, you have 7 days built up YOU CAN HAVE 7 SERVINGS" http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bag-on-head.gif

But, as I do know, I have to change my bad "good-logic" attitude. Thanks for the words.

Welby----eat and exercise today! That's it! You are better than being tempted by those good foods! I HATE lunch now because I can't go to Shakey's pig trough or get a burger and fries. I get a salad. It flat out sucks! But, I won't change anything about my size if I keep doing what got me here.

I eat late too much. Wife works until 10pm most nights and I wait to eat dinner with her. I try sooooooo hard not to snack too much with the kids when I feed them (use to eat then, and then again around 10:30). Now, I BBQ late, do some chicken or venison with some BBQ corn and eat a f@#$^ing salad. Even if we eat out, I now will opt for a salad not a juicy burger or steak. It's your fault and I have to thank you for that. So, Stop the bad choice, make a better choice, even if it is late. I know how hard it is to do that, but if I can eat salads, (mom really freaked when she found out I am doing it on my own) SO CAN YOU! My kids teased me bad at Ruby's Sat. night after a day at the San Diego County fair. "Mom, call 911" "Dad are you okay? Do you need to talk?" "your sick, you must be sick"
Really, they starred at me eating a bowl of rabbit food. I really wanted a juicy burger and a shake or float.
TRY HARDER THIS WEEK WELBY

fpscabs,

If you eat late try eating a bigger lunch and your salad for dinner. The fitness trainer helping me suggested that. I told her I ate late a lot and she suggested eating big at lunch and going small at night. She said you will burn off the lunch during your work.

Just my 2 cents, trying to help.

Just so you all know,im keeping track of you by reading these posts,it seems to me most of you are doing really good,if you look for instant gratifacation you will be disapointed, keep focused on the long term.
Summer is here, and soon it will get Hot and muggy, this is your best oppertunity to shed pounds, drag out the tick spray, strap on a backpack, weigh it down gradually, take plenty of water and go to the woods and just climb a hill, walk a ridge to rest and pick out another to climb, you will strengthen your legs for the up and coming season plus you will sweat those pounds off,and it will be alot more entertaining than any other workout you can dream up.what could beat scouting and loosing weight at the same time?

LOL! I never thought of the logic of 7 servings of cookies for 7 days. Hmmm.

Here's what I do. I will allow myself 1 to 2 cookies only. I don't believe in depriving myself of lifes taste bud pleasures. Carrots can get awful boring http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-rolleyes-green.gif

I like reeses peanut butter cup. Notice I said cup, not cups. I will buy it only when I'm with someone else. Why? I eat my one and share the other with my hubby. See, that way my hand doesn't pick up the other one and shove it into my mouth before I have time to realize I just ate 2 http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/afraid_face.gif

Hamburger and Pizza.......yummmmmy. Now, here's the hard part. DON'T EAT THE BREAD!!! Just by eating everything else you have saved yourself lots of calories and carbs you didn't need. I have gotten funny looks from eating a pizza with a fork and only eating the toppings. And DON'T SUPER SIZE! Instead of fries, order a salad. And no straight soda, diet soda is ok.

If you like mexican food. Same thing, if you eat out at Taco Bell. Just don't eat the tortilla.

Now, just because you don't eat the bread doesn't mean you get to order 2 instead of one. We live in a world were we believe we need a lot of food on our plate to be happy. I have learned this is not true. The right foods and smaller portions is the key. Follow your calorie intake according to your gender and height.

And when your alone and you feel like you need to eat and you know you are really not hungry. I call this head hunger. It's the toughest to over come. If you can't hold back the temptation. And you become weak. Feed your taste buds only and not your stomach. And you ask, how do you do this. Easy, chew and spit out, don't swallow.

What you do with the chewed food is up to to..
Anyone know of a good diet for a Labrador LOL

Ok, that is gross.

Happy dieting,

Welby

I've been tearin' the chewin' gum up to keep my appetite curbed.

Also, all this water makes you pee like there's no tomorrow.

Oh, and my wife is supportive. She and the boy teamed up to get me a slant board/flat bench combo for the abs and other workout acts of torment.

Hey, I KNOW this has gotta be hard!! like when I try to quit smokeing, I come back smokeing even more!!

But you can do it!! Well maybe some of you ?

You just can't follow the Welby exercise plan.
His exercise plan has the wrong deffinitions of words.

LIKE :

Push-up: push more food up to the face.
Sit-up: what you do on the couch to grab more food.
Run: what you do when you are out of food.
Walking: What you do from the couch to the fridge when you are LOW on food.
Diet: the 2 litter bottle of stuff you drink with the super sized meal you get at a burger joint.

Dead: What I will be if Welby ever gets his hands on me!!!

Good luck guy & gals, & keep on trying :)

Welby, might as well quit now because I dont want you to lose enough weight that you can catch me!!!

I Just want you all to know I respect you for the sacrafice you are doing, and I certianly respect Welby for the great sport & humor in what he writes that has made being here so much fun!!

Now can I go back and pick on him some more??

I just dread the day he can catch me after he gets his goal. I will be hamburger! Do not buy any meat from Welby, I may be in it!!

LOL!!!

MrRee, I tell ya what, I enjoy all the banter and picking. I hope I don't ever go too far, 'cause I can get pretty mean at times.

But, it's all fun and games to me. In fact, it's always all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.

No worries! I enjoy the fun and get a lot of good laughs out of it.

I'll tell you something, you couldn't do that on just any website. On most other websites such fun gets out of hand and pure hate evolves among the members. I'll step back and leave it alone if I ever sense that it is going too far.

Just another benefit of being a member at Jesse's Hunting Page.

Back to the weight loss...

I may be struggling right now. I may not lose weight this week. But I am not giving up on this. I will beat this. No matter how long it takes me, I am not giving up.

I've struggled to long and I'm not getting any younger. Honestly, despite my weight, I'm really not in that bad of shape, but I know I could be much better. And, I know it will get worse if I don't change things NOW.

Ok, Sister Betty, dismiss us in prayer...
