What kind of game do you like to hunt the most?
Who taught you how to hunt and when was your first hunting trip?
Do you use a rifle shotgun, or bow? What kind?
What is your favorite hunting memory?
What is your dream hunt?

I live in Barre, Vt. -- The "Granite Capitol" of the world. It is in the central part of the state, 5 miles south on the Capitol, Montpelier.
My favorite game animal is the Whitetail deer, which I hunt with the rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader or bow. I hunt in Vt., Mass., N.Y., and Maine. I have plans to hunt in Ontario and the midwest.

From Milton, love to hunt whitetails. Huge fan of archery, first year out and bagged a decent 7ptr. However during rifle you can catch me in NY, VT doesn't have a lot to offer, especially in my area... Maybe these new antler restrictions will start to get the heard bigger and beefier.

I live in Chittenden County, I used to hunt in Berkshire, but too many land owners have posted their land and are not letting us enjoy hunting deer on their property, but they'll hunt other peoples land instead. I'm addicted to the whitetail experience, I hunt archery, some rifle in VT, but mostly in NY, and this year I'll get back into the muzzleloader season with an application for an antlerless permit. I'm going to apply also for a moose permit this year and give that a shot. I picked up turkey hunting last year without success, but had a blast doing it, so hopefully this year with my brand new Remington I'll bag my first Tom!! I've loved the outdoors ever since my father introduced it to me when I was old enough to walk in the woods. My best hunting memory was 2005 Thanksgiving morning in NY where I shot the biggest racked buck of my life thus far.

I live in Montgomery, Vermont. I grew up duck hunting in Shelburne, and have hunted mostly in that area. I now live in Montgomery and duck hunt on Magog and on the rest of the lakes in the NEK. I deer hunt mostly in Starksboro area.

Yellodog, first and foremost, welcome to JHO, secondly dont be a stranger to the VT hunting page, it seems like there are only a few of us that check it on a regular basis, it'd be nice to have a fellow Northern Vermonter on the site to bounce stories and such back and forth with.....

I do Turkey hunt. I love it. I got in to it about 4-5 years ago. Sometimes its hard to find the time to go, but I like it better than Duck and deer hunting.

I've been on this site for awhile now and just realized this forum was here. Currently I am living in Randolph,vt but grew up a little more south of here in the Windsor, Brownsville, Hartland area. I basically hunt whitetails with bow, rifle, and muzzleloader but have hunted turkey and grouse as well.

Live in San Diego (I know, not Vermont) but grew up in Vermont, still go back every year for the opener, and my family still lives there. I'm from Swanton, hunt mainly in Alburg. Grew up hunting all over Frankilin county, and usually did alot of fishing (trout) on Jay peak.

Hey Vermonster,
Nice to hear someone in here from the Swanton area. I live in Jay Vermont now, but grew up in Swanton and went to school there, and lived there until I was in my 40's. A lot of my family are from the Swanton and Alburg area, which by the way is pretty much all posted now. That is one of the reasons I moved to Jay. Great Hunting.
Take it easy

That's pretty cool. I did all my schooling there as well, graduated from Missisquoi.
We have access to some good farmland in Alburg. Been hunting that family's land for 12 or 13 years.
Grew up fishing the brook right along the road going down the east side of Jay Peak. 4 or 5 times a summer, mostly got limits.
Take Care.
