I just got the email below from my assemblymen after writing to him on my opposition to the bills listed in the topic. I called and spoke with "Morgan" in the office. Actually seemed like someone who cared about our votes and rights, so I thought I would post this for others to contact with similar concerns.
John
Assemblyman Cogdill asked me to forward you this note:
Hunters and Law Abiding Gun Owners Under Attack
Currently, there are 4 bills I oppose before the Legislature that are a direct attack on California gun owners and hunters. Below, I have listed the bills and provided a brief summary:
AB 1190
The bill would prohibit any open season for the western mourning doves and white-winged doves.
AB 992 and AB 602
Both of these bills would impose a fee of 10 cents on every munitions sold at retail. The fees would be paid to the State Board of Equalization, and deposited in the Trauma Center Fund, a continuously appropriated fund that would be established by the bill.
AB 342
This bill would inhibit a person from training a dog for hunting.
Please note that I am opposed to limiting the rights of hunters and law abiding gun owners. My office will continue to monitor these bills and encourage you to contact Bud Sexton at my office with regard to this or any other issue at (209) 576-6425.
