My daughter and I went out trout fishing this morning. Less than 5 minutes on the Creek, my 4yr old catches a beautiful Brown trout....
Let me tell ya!! the excitement in her eyes and the smile on her face made me the Proudest Father on this Planet!!!!!!

Fantastic, that brown is almost as big as her fishing rod! It's really a memorable experience when young children go out and actually catch fish. I started taking my boy out fishing when he was still in his stroller; but the fun really started when he was a 2 yr. old. To this day if a child with father or mother is fishing next to me and not catching anything due to an inappropriate tackle set-up, I will either offer to set up their terminal tackle, or even lend the kid one of my ready-rigged extra rods. I hope every experienced angler on this forum does the same -- it is a priceless memory for the kids. Tell your daughter I'm jealous of her catch, but I'll have a chance at some high-sierra browns here in CA come the last Saturday in April.

Congratulations. That sure is a pretty little girl. Hope I can have a few kids of my own someday to take hunting and fishing like my dad did with me.
