Just sent my application in for the March POR on Tejon. Just curious...Are any of you ladies, going to be there?

Take care http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-wavin-yel.gif

I would... but the money just isn't there right now. I wish these darn kids would hurry up and get jobs! They are seriously impacting my budget.

Duckdog,

The POR is the Tejon Ranch Pig O Rama. It's a series of do-it-yourself hog hunts held at the Tejon Ranch, and one of the best deals going as far as a paid hunt (in my opinion).

For $300 (plus a $10 insurance fee), you get two and a half days of hunting on the Tejon ranch. You can camp there, or stay in a hotel nearby, and hunt from noon Friday until end of shoot time on Sunday. There's a ton of hogs on the ranch, and your odds are pretty danged good if you spend the time and effort to find one.

There's also a $500 prize for the biggest hog from each of three areas (north, south, and desert).

You can find out a lot more in the Hog Hunting forum. Seems like this time of year, every other discussion is about one of the POR hunts.

Here's a write up I did after last year's POR. (http://www.elwing.com/hunting/pigorama.html)

Here's a link to the Events forum discussion of the March hunt. (http://www.jesseshuntingpage.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=67&t=27156&st=0)

Thanks you Speckmisser. I have heard of the Pig O Rama. Just never heard of it as POR. It sounds like it would be fun. I'd go, but I have a good friend who is a Hog guide and I just can't see spending all that money. I have heard only good things about that hunt. Good luck to everyone who is going....

Hey duckdog, do you think your hog guide friend can give JHP'ers a good discount?
