DIVISION LOOKS TO INFORM AND ENTERTAIN PUBLIC AT SPORTSMAN’S EXPO
The Colorado Division of Wildlife will offer the public an opportunity to learn about wildlife, outdoor activities and other DOW programs throughout the state at the International Sportsmen’s Exposition in Denver from Jan. 23- 26. The annual event showcases the latest outdoor sporting gear, outfitters and recreational opportunities in the Rocky Mountain Region.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife will offer the public an opportunity to learn about wildlife, outdoor activities and other DOW programs throughout the state at the International Sportsmen’s Exposition in Denver from Jan. 23- 26. The annual event showcases the latest outdoor sporting gear, outfitters and recreational opportunities in the Rocky Mountain Region.
It is a great chance for people who have an interest in the outdoors to stop by the Division both and learn about what we do,” said Dave Seeber, marketing coordinator for the Division. “People can also take this opportunity to get information on the outdoor activities that interest them. The Division booth will be an excellent source of information and fun for those who are looking to stay informed on outdoor topics.”
Wildlife managers, Division employees and customer service representatives will be working throughout the exposition to distribute current hunting and fishing brochures and answer questions. Three Colorado Wildlife Commissioners will be on hand to speak to the public on Saturday evening. Commissioners Rick Enstrom, Jeffrey Crawford and Bernard Black will be at the booth to visit with the public and answer questions about the future of Colorado’s Wildlife management.
The Division staff will also be conducting a chronic wasting disease presentation and question and answer session from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Those who are interested in Colorado’s 2003 big game season can have their questions answered on season dates and changes in regulations. The public will have the opportunity to learn more about the Division’s stocking operations. Several times a day, members of the Division hatchery staff will be collecting eggs from trout and spawning them to demonstrate what takes place at the in fish hatcheries throughout the state.
The International Sportsmen’s Exposition will be held at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th St. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
