I was reading on another board that you can't put a Pre-ban folding stock on a new rifle. Is this correct? Say I bought a new 10/22, and put a pre-ban folding stock and 30rd magazine on it would this make it illegal?

What about just the magazine? The catalog I bought it from said "100% legal to own". So the folding stock adds 2 "evil" features on top of the detachable magazine which makes a total of 3 "evil" features making it an assault weapon. So if I pinned the stock open this would make it legal?

Are you sure rimfires are covered under these laws?

Rimfires without a doubt fall under all the laws that centerfire do (as stupid as that sounds).

If I remember correctly, a rimfire 10/22 was the reason that Greatguns in Sacramento lost their FFL? They had one on the wall with all of the evil traits of an "assualt weapon", and it was un-registered as such.

I never saw rimfire mentioned, just centerfire.
I have a buddy that owns a local gun store, and he said that rimfires were excluded from that law?
that was just in late 02'
I know things change over night, and the law in MO. is probably diferent then CA.
and that you can't even get a high cap clip in CA.
I'd check the law in you're state. and see if you have the same restrictions?
just my 2 pennies. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-rolleyes-green.gif

Yeah i'm sure half my guns would be illegal in Cal. But I'm trying to figure out if it is illegal under the assault weapons ban of 94.

FYI The brady bill will expire next year, and for it to become a law again Bush will have to sign it in to law.... Atleast that gives up hope.

Really? That would be great!! I seriously doubt it that Bush is going to sign that crap, so after next year, no more Brady bill... http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-biggrin-aqua.gif

A. If you live in CA, you're still screwed

B. I doubt Bush will think it's worth the political heat (which will be huge)

Yeah i dont know if CA can be saved. Missouri isn't even that good when it comes to gun laws. Guess we all have to move to Vermont...lol
