Length Tolerance

How picky are you when it comes to overall length? Why i ask is i done a small length change on my 30.06 today and crimped,as i worked i measured each shell for overal length to see how broad a differense i had,for some reason out of 10 shells i had as much as .0045" difference,with 4 shells being right on.im thinking i should get the lentgh tolerance down a little tighter than that.

I would have to say it depends alot on the bullet , overall will vary if the bullets vary . I prefer to measure from on the ogive but can only do this for the .223
