ASK THE GAME & FISH
Q. Where can I go ice fishing?
A. Any waters which have an open season are also open to ice fishing. Wyoming only has a few waters which have seasonal closures and those places are listed as closed in the regulations. Right now the main difficulty is finding a water which has adequate ice thickness to insure safety. Even though a cold snap in November created an early ice cover on many waters, anglers are urged to use extreme caution. However, if we receive “normal” late December and January weather, it should only be a few weeks until most lakes and reservoirs will offer ice fishing opportunities.
