Besides Terry,Brownie, and I how many cammers do we have in the ranks? I look forward to it every year and always get pics of deer i never knew existed in my area.Cold causes a special variety of challenges for winter cammin but are able to be overcome.Still waiting to get a nice non-typical on film.Keep the batteries fresh and hit those feeding runs while the bucks still got their horns!

Hey Quilly,You can build one with help from the game cam forum on this site for $125-150 or buy one like me or Brownie uses for $275.Still a lot to lose but if you hide them good and stay off main trails and tote roads down thru the woods you should be OK.

Quilly,
The next time you have a few extra bucks get one, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
One way I do it to prevent theft is to find a well used deer trail and when I come to a few jackfirs on one side or the other I step into them off the trail a little until I find a small opening a put down a few apples.
Any deer walking the trail will smell them and hopefully, check them out. A person won't just turn into thick stuff like that for no reason.
I've never had one stolen, but I had a bear eat one. My fault, I had anise on my hands and there ain't nothing they like better. I now handle it with my bare hands and don't strap it to a tree real tight. I have had it knocked off the tree, but that didn't hurt it.
I have to go get it right now, it's 3/4 mile in the woods and we have a foot of snow coming. Good luck, and Merry Christmas Brownie

Game camera addict here. I started with the Cam Trakker, then a Phantom Hunter and a Moultrie that I returned because they are Junk!
Then along comes Jesse's Home Brew. Those units are great! All total I have Fifteen Cameras with plans on adding six to ten this winter.
This is a sport all alone, I have tried baiting animals as a trapper would do with some success. My quest is for a Bobcat, I have seen one twice in the same area and think I may have him on film but its hard to tell.
All Year entertainment, great hobby. Thank you to all who contribute to these Home Brew Cams.
