Rough or Smooth???

How can I tell if my bore is rough or smooth?? I have seen some of you talk about this and I wasn't sure what effect this had on accuracy?? On my Douglas AirGauge 22-250 barrel I shot 10 shots and cleaned after each shot. Then I shot 2 shots and cleaned the barrel for 10 more shots after every 2 shots. After that I went ahead and tried some three shot groups and cleaned after every 3 shots...Do you think this was enough of a break in the barrel or did I do it ALL wrong..Thanks for any advice...Adios'

I have talked with thompson and shilein (spelling ?) on the subject and the recomendation they made was to clean after each of the first five shots and then after each five shot group for the next fifty shots and that is it the barrel is broke in.
