Well after having hip surgery this season I was finally able to get out on the last day of the season. My son drew a high resi at LDC but figuring that some resi's wont show, there was a chance at a blind. I brought a friend along to help with the gear. He asked if he could have another friend come along which meant we would have to go freeroam. I didn't mind his friend is a good hunter and they are both fun to hunt with. The guys took off to secure a good spot and my son and I slowly made our way to the pond. We got out to a spot that I had never gone to before but had heard it was good. Shooting time came and my son dropped the first duck of our season. The morning shoot was good and we racked up nine ducks. We lost a few in the thick tules but our lab was able to find a couple. Overall it was a great hunt and fun time. Its to bad it was the last day of the season. My son gets one more chance on Saturday at Sac refuse for the junior hunt. Cant wait for next season where I will hopefully able to get out more often.
