Our young lad locked on the Rooster first, then our 2 1/2 year old girl, honored his point.
They held for the wife to get some pictures, I flushed the bird, and the 16 ga. needed just one of it's two loads sent downrange.
5 birds total yesterday. Another couple of meals with leftovers for us. A great walk in the snow covered Prairie Grass. Around 20 to 25 degrees. Enough wind to help the dogs catch scent.
I've had worse days afield.
