First couple of days setting out some trap lines for me and what a fun hobby to fill that time between the end of hunting season and beginning of fishing/spring bear/turkey!
I have 1/2 dozen Duke #1 coil springs set up on a sliding drowner, a couple of #1 with stop loss setup in hole sets and a couple of 100 body traps set up about 5 minutes from the house. So far I have pulled out 4 muskrats from the sets.
I have been noticing a lot of beaver damage and slides where I have been trapping and am going to set out a couple of #4 on drowner sets and couple of snares this afternoon and see if I can bag a beaver.
We have been getting lots of rain and the river level has been changing. Monday it is set to increase 400% so that will probably be the end of my trapping.
I think I have found a new hobby though!
