Sounds like these Italians need hunter safety courses before more people are injured/killed. just reading that somebody was mistaken for a pheasant and shot is too incredible. What, are these guys totally drunk while hunting or ???? They need at least mandatory blaze orange if nothing else. To me it sounds like there is little enforcement of laws already in place. That would help too!

I can tell you have never been out in the country in Italy (especially Tuscany, Umbria or Sicily). The 'Deliverance' guys would find out how big a sissies they really are in comparison.
I agree that hunter safety would be a good idea for italians. But getting them to do it or consider it could be a problem.

I hunted in Umbria (near Orvieto) last September and found it pretty safe overall. Very enjoyable time, even though I didn't get a boar. Did get a few pheasants though. Mmmmm....
