Hello,

I’m a new wannabe fisherman from Concord, CA and I’m looking for a fishing mentor that will be kind enough to show me the ropes and introduce me to the intriguing world of fishing.

I’m interested in any kind of fishing, but due to time and money restrictions, I try to keep it simple and close to home. I do have some basic used gear that I got from family or from garage sales with out knowing what I really needed. I also have my 2011 Fishing license.
I’m still trying to understand all the DFG regulations and although I’ve been out fishing a couple of times, I don’t really know what I’m doing, so any help and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any guidance & knowledge you can spare.

What kind of fishing? Bass/trout/crappie/others, lake/stream, ocean/freshwater, charterboat/pier/beach? Each of these requires different techniques and gear. And some fish species (and fishing spots) have laws which limit what you can and can't do which we can't assist you about unless we know that's what you want to do.

Personally I'm too far away to help, but more info from you would help pinpoint what you want to learn about.
