Pontoon boat ground for stereo???

The stereo is on a separate battery.

Self contained hookup with independent battery now.
But when the boat is started. (with other batt. not connected to stereo) the stereo loses all memory. and blinks on, and off???

Are both batts connected at some point? Could there be a surge of current on start-up that's reaching the radio and affecting it? Just thinking out loud.

Did you run it through the fuse housing (harness) that the whole boat uses, or did you do an independent wiring job?

There is an obvious break in the circuit here somewhere. Are all the connections secured? Is anything else having the same problem? If so does it share the same power source or fuse harness?
