I was reading my field and steam and come accross a multi purpose tool to bring to the blind (the usual plier, knife, ect combo) and it said it can be used to drawing birds, is that the same as bleeding a bird? I have never heard of bleeding a bird! Anyone know?

Removing the guts so the bird cools faster and dosen't spoil. Never done it, but there you go.

Ive never bled a duck! We always breast them out, but you cant do that until youve got'em home. Ive fielded out geese before, but it tends to take time without a shotgun in your hand. Take it for what it is, but ive not seen it in the field.

I gutted a few duck in the blind years ago but I could never tell a difference in the taste.
