Good for you Neil, I know you've wanted one for a long time. We picked up a yellow male in February, but the rest are long gone. Scroll down, there's a post of a yellow litter recently. Good luck, hope you get a good one!

Yeah, I guess. I'd kinda like to meet the pup first. Haven't really thought about out of state, not sure what's involved....selecting from pictures, airfreight to CA? You know of a good litter in CO Zach?

Found her! Bill Middlebrook had a litter, with the good bloodlines and the darker yellow female I was looking for. The dam's previous litters produced great waterdogs.
Drove up to Ripon (14 hr RT) and brought her home Friday night. She cried a little after leaving Ripon but was pretty quiet the rest of the way. Hardly any complaints at night. She's very calm and mild-mannered, but really goes after the bumper and brings it straight back to me. She's gonna be a great hunting partner.
Pic of "Schatzie" (little sweatheart in German), 9 weeks old last Friday.

Neil, I posted on your blog. Great to see the pup you called me about. A ticking alarm clock and a rolled up sock will feel and sound like mom at night if that becomes an issue. Your smile, that pup, and your true enjoyment of what is most important about a day in the field, will make for a bright future for you and your dog. I truly believe that a pup is born with all the talent already inside. It is what and how you let it out that creates a lifelong companion. Look past the looks you will get from your dog when you miss an easy shot. "Bella" and I wish you luck on your new chapter in life. To Shatzie... Auf Wiedersehen Bis bald

Thanks for the post on my blog Craig. Yep, I'm having a blast already, just playing with her and trying a few little bits of training. This season is going to be great, just having her in the blind with me, whether or not the ducks show up.
