Last Thursday (4/22) we were trolling at Soquel Hole. At one point, this one got sneaky and ran toward the boat, but I figured it out and reeled up fast before he got much slack. 16lbs of Yumminess. Fresh salmon, smoked salmon, gravalax, and fresh salmon soup stock.
:smiley_yahoo:

This trip was my 4th attempt at salmon this year. It was a gorgeous day.

We hooked up with one other fish that day but this was the only only one we boated.

mmmm good, Awesome fish. I thought I was the only one that liked and knew how to make gravalax. Glad someone else loves that stuff!

Gravalax is just as good as lox. If you can cold smoke it, even better! I love the stuff, on crackers...with a little smoked cheddar.....YUM

:thumbs up2: persistence pays off. Nice fish.

Did you jig the spoon, or where you trolling? They sure are staying deep.

Hi Calisdad,

Sorry I didn't see your question before this. We were trolling between 180 down to 300. Snagged jellies and seaweed, too.

Itdann, The gravalax is powerfull good stuff. If/when I get out again (and am successful), I will be repeating my experiment. I would like to try making lox, too.
