Places to shoot

Looking for somwhere to shoot for the day within an hour or 2 drive so I can plink with the kids and sight in my hunting rifle.Not sure if there are closures in the local deserts.I will take the motorhome out for the day and let the kids shoot the 22's and I will sight in my '06.I am in Socal so any help with some areas will be appreciated.

Depends on what county your in. There is alot of good BLM in SoCal that you can shoot from. Try geocommunicator to find blm, GeoCommunicator (http://www.geocommunicator.gov/blmMap/Map.jsp?MAP=MC)
just check off the the box next to "Surface Management Agency", and the rest is pretty much self-explanatory.

Need to know where you're at first. Bee Canyon near Hemet, BLM land out near Desert Hot Springs if you're near LA. Several San Bernardino NF ranges, one near Big Bear. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/recreation/target/index.shtml

I am in HUntington Beach and will make a day of it to relax with the family.Don't mind a drive but need to be able to get the motorhome in to the spot.
