Ford trucks has partnered with country singer/songwriter Toby Keith who stars in its new advertising campaign. The ads, which feature an original score written by Keith expressing his love for Ford Trucks and the hard-working nature of the vehicles, began during Monday Night Football on October 7, 2002.
“Toby Keith is a Ford truck man that our customers can connect with,” said Steve Lyons, Ford Division president. “He personifies ‘Built Ford Tough’ both on- and offstage. We are really excited about this partnership.”
A third-generation Ford truck man, Keith paid tribute to his late father by including in his song a phrase his father always said, “I’d rather walk 10 miles, be down on my luck, than drive around the block in another kind of truck.”
“When I was a teenager, I kinda rebelled against my dad and didn’t buy a Ford. My truck didn’t last,” said Keith. “Ever since then, I have driven Ford trucks exclusively. I am a Ford truck man through-and-through—I couldn’t imagine myself as anything else.”
The new Ford advertising campaign will feature print, radio, television and Internet elements. Please keep checking back for more details by visiting www.fordvehicles.com/features/news/. For more information on Toby Keith, please visit www.tobykeith.com.
