Got my spread setup at 10:30. 15 mins later shot my 1st pinney. Tried to hold out for greens but nothin was flying except pintails. Just flock after flock of pintails. Finally gave up at 3:00 and shot my 2nd pin to call it a day.
I hope Cal is shooting good right now cause Sauvies has been very poor the last few weeks. Have fun out there guys.

Cal's north valley has been slow. Please send them down our way, thank you.

Its not just there, Northern California is super slow too. We need a good storm to push some birds here and there.

I just came back from Cal. There was lots of bird off I-5 feeding in the rice fields at Sac Wildlife. I saw a sign that said Delevan or something. Is that where you some of you hunt?

Sac,Delevan, Colusa, Sutter are all refuges in that area that are open to waterfowl hunting on sat, sun, and wed. Both sac and delevan are within a few miles of I-5.

The birds are here, just not moving a whole lot. The rice near Sac refuge has been red hot the last 1 1/2 weeks in the fog and the rice out of Biggs has been hit or miss. Some days are off the hook, others are dead slow...which is typical for rice hunting.

I've never hunted in the rice but looks like som'n I want to try. Oregon has corn fields but no rice field, where I hunt anyways.
Bodega, I can send them down your way if they show up. I'm still trying to tell Washington to send them down my way first.
