been hunting a good size pond in the afternoons due to work in the mornings and i can even get a chance at these damn ducks. at least 2 or 300 ducks sittin on the water and all the ones that do fly buzz by out of range and ideas on what i should do? put the dekes out farther use mojo? dont use mojo?

Same story further east on Suisun Marsh these days. Those are educated birds. Try different strategies and see if they respond to any of them. try mojo, remove mojo. Call more, call less. One thing I've noticed these days is that less seems to be better than more in terms of decoy numbers. The majority of my recent kills have been over less than a dozen decoys, and no spinners at all. Keep at it!!

i have been tryin diff things i had mojos yesterday none today had one widgeon locked up on me then he landed on the far side with all the other ducks

sadly no its a HUGE pond and the side they normally sit on is bare with no cover

Maybe try to throw some geese floaters into the mix for confidence? That would be my next move.

Mike - Nice to see you here again. Setting your decoys at the opposite side of the pond you are hunting is a late season secret.
