I am finally switching to carbon arrows. I want to put a drop down rest on my Hoyt. Can anyone tell me what the good drop down rests are these days? Also give me an idea on what carbon hunting arrows to get that are decent? I have an old hoyt fast flight 70 lbs with a 30 in draw.

Thanks

Code3, i am a big fan of carbon express shafts, i have dozen and 1/2 of the maxima blazer 3D signiture series shafts myself, but no matter what shaft you choose here's the reason why and some food for thought, try to buy the latest shafts instead of the older series shafts because eventually the older shaft's will be discountinued and you will end up having to buying new shafts agian and have to go threw the whole retunning process of dialing in your shafts and pin yardage's on your bow which is ok but who needs to go threw that anytime soon when your an archer or bowhunter getting ready for a shoot or an out of town hunt or any hunt for that matter.

as far as a rest i use the Q.A.D. ultra rest hd pro series, great drop away and arrow containment.

hope this helps in your decision's, good luck and have a great day!.......tra

The G5 Expert II is what I am using right now. Its quiet, easy to install, and works great, they fabricated one especially for Hoyts. As for arrows, my choices have been Easton Axis and the Beman MFX.

carbon force radial X weave 300's for my arrows. As far as the rest goes, I'm still a wisker biscuit fan.

I'm using the Ripcord rest on both my bows. Works good for me. I also shoot GoldTip arrows.

Check out this one, VaporTrail Custom Archery Products (http://www.vaportrailarchery.com/limbDriver.asp) .

I used to have a QAD on my bow and could not get rid of fletching contact no matter what I tried. Switched to this rest and all the problems have been solved. Great rest from a great company.

I also have the QAD ultra rest hd pro series on my Hoyt UltraTec 3000 and just love it. Fletching clearance is not a problem here and the arrow containment is just what I was looking for.

Good luck.

Trophy Taker and Gold Tip

I have been wanting to try some of the gold tips out lately. I got a gift card to a sportsman store and the only brand arrow they carry is gold tip. How would you compare them to Eastons if you have had any experience with them?

Sorry Badlands...no experience with Eastons. I've only used Gold Tips.

QAD on my bows. Works great, contained and silent. I use the Easton St Axis N-fused arrows. Love them.

RipCord with a side of Bemans ICS. Easily 500+ arrows down range with the Rip with zero issues.
