Pictures from a DNR raid on St. Martin's <st1:place w:st="on">Island</st1:place> on Nov. 19th, 2009.
It is by the upper peninsula of <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Michigan</st1:place></st1:State> near Greenbay, Winsconsin
but it is on the <st1:State w:st="on">Michigan</st1:State> side of the stateline through <st1:place w:st="on">Lake Michigan</st1:place>.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>


31 Bucks and 9 Does on the pole, nothing smaller than a 7.
Approx. 10 deer, antlers, and heads found around the camp.
Also, a smaller mix of bucks and does...

10 deer without tags, another 10 with wives/girlfriends tags.

Hope the fines will be high enough!!<o:p></o:p>

Sad. There are a lot of nice bucks up there too. I'm sure if you ask the "hunters" about them, they wouldn't remember any of the individual bucks. This way, they're just "that time we whacked all those bucks". Really sad to see it happen that way.

Do a little research on this story and you will find out the violations were minor. I found another photo in which the DNR personnel posed for a photo with the hunters. Everyone looks pretty happy.....the island is private property, and evidently this kind of harvest was necessary due to too many deer on the island.

I was able to locate the photo. Story said there were just a couple of minor tagging issues.
