Hi Cousin Jack,
My friend Sean English who can be found at the upland game forum is always looking for a dog owner to chase chuckars and quail in the high dessert. I am more of a crow and pigeon man myself less driving more birds and they both taste great! In Southern Cal a lot of hunters belong to some kind of private club. I did belong to Wilderness Unlimited and had some great quail shoots near Teachappi. A lawyer at work was able to get R?T tickets to Argentina for $500 now theres a place for really good upland game hunting. Mexico can be very good but right now may not be the safest time to travel.
