SF is near some great duck hunting on public and private land. both Wilderness Unlimited and Golden ram have good opportunities on private ranchs not to far away. SF is a lot closer to good hunting opps the poor guys like me who live in LA.

Head over to Pacific Rod and Gun, on the south shore of Lake Merced. Pacific Rod and Gun Club (http://www.prgc.net/)

I grew up in SF and now live a bit south. Although you don't hear it spoken out loud in public, there are a number of shooters/hunters in the City.
Check out the different clubs, depending on what you like to do. Ducks Unlimited, Safari Club Intl, etc. And don't forget the Sportsmans' Expo outdoor show in San Mateo every year. And there are some good ranges to shoot within a relatively short drive.

Welcome jmscottza! There are also places in the east bay. There is a range in San Leandro and the Chabot Gun club out in the Chabot Regional Park. I did a search on ranges near Oakland and found more that I had never heard of. Check it out
