URGENT LEGISLATIVE UPDATE!
Rare Opportunity At-hand for Gun Owners!
Begin copy here for pasting into rep's email
==============
As you know last week, Gov. Davis signed SB682 and AB496. These two bills are designed to hassle the gun industry by giving lawyers the ability to pursue frivolous lawsuits against gun dealers. Instead of suing individuals who misuse firearms in the commission of a crime, lawyers will sue the manufacturers and dealers who lawfully manufactured and sold the products.
However, two pieces of Federal Legislation, H.R.2037 (House of
Representatives) and S. 2268 (U.S. Senate) will offer California gun owners a rare opportunity- FEDERAL PRE-EMPTION of a restrictive California law. Simply put if these two bills pass the Senate and Congress, Gov. Davis' action will be nullified and SB682 and AB496 will be repealed.

Response from Rep. Gary Miller (http://www.house.gov/garymiller/) 41st Congressional District, California. He serves the Anaheim, Diamond Bar, Brea, Chino, Chino Hills, Montclair, Ontario, Placentia, Pomona, Upland, Yorba Linda areas. ###BTW folks, he is up for re-election. ###Rep. Miller is really a great guy. ###When the family and I visited D.C. a couple of years ago, he cleared an hour of his schedule to meet with us and had a staffer take us on a private tour of the Capitol. He has always responded to my request/contacts, and not with just automated responses. ###If you need a yard sign, email his office and let them know you are an Outdoorsman (woman) who supports him![/b]

Dear Mr. Havill:
Thank you for contacting me regarding your support of H.R. 2037, the
"Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act." I appreciate hearing from
you on this issue.
As you may know, H.R. 2037 was introduced by U.S. Congressman Cliff
Stearns (R-FL). If enacted into law, this legislation would protect
firearm and ammunition manufactures from lawsuits that arise as a result
of harm caused by criminal or other unlawful misuse of firearms or
ammunition products. I cosponsored this measure because I believe it
represents a balanced approach to the legal issues surrounding the
liability of firearms and ammunition manufacturers.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Please let me know if I can be of
assistance in the future.

Thought you guys would get kick out of this...here is Boxer's reply to me, one month after I emailed her.
Wow, my views are important - no real response... then I'm told that she will respond faster if I send thru her website (which I did by the way!)

Wow Boxer really cares! Sounds more like a commerical for herself.
I wonder if you have recieved the same type response if you had addressed a concern like save the whales, or feed the children, or some other liberal cause?

Gary Miller is a great guy. They just re-drew his district, it now includes parts of LA, Orange, and San Bernardino counties. Specifically, ALL OF Diamond Bar, La Habra Heights, Brea, La Habra, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margerita, Yorba Linda, Chino and Chino Hils as well as 1/3 of Whittier, most of Rowland Heights, and portions of Anaheim, Placentia, and Los Flores
Unfortunately, his district stops a couple miles northeast of my house, and I am stuck with half of this stupid "Sister Act". We managed to elect Linda Sanchez, sister to Rep. Loretta Sanchez, the one who beat Bob Dornan by using the votes of illegal immigrants.
It sure is good to know that we have a decent congressman in the area. Maybe in 2 years we can replace the Sanchez Sisters with someone better.
