Nice work on some pretty animals. What was the length of the main beams on them?
Take care

I'd have to look at the score sheet for the exact beam length but I recall it was about 29 for the first one (144 4/8 overall) and the second one was about 28 (142 4/8).
Both qualify for the the SCI silver medal. Glasseye did a wonderful job on both.!

Why Shane, I do believe they came from your outfit. As I recall, one of them had "a rear end like a fat girl from Alabama"!
Thanks again, Shane, That was an awesome good time.

We had shane score them using the SCI score sheet (impartial 3rd party).
Chucks was 142 4/8 and mine was 144 4/8. Both scored silver and missed gold by a hair. We're both very happy.
P.S. psssttt, mine was bigger.:smiley_yahoo:

That's sorta funny...
You know, Dan, if you and Chuck want a rematch, it looks like I've still got room at the end of March.

Jeez, I wish we could. Momma absolutely loves Axis, I don't think we've bought beef in 6 months. My dance cards full this year and I Know Chucks being cautious in this economy.
Besides, It's one of the few times I've shot something bigger than him. Why give him a chance to regain bragging rights.
Dang, those mounts look good!!:patiotic-wavin-flag

Not if you start saving for now, for next year! I suspect in this economy, you'll see some small reductions in cost.
I believe the buck and doe went $1750 (500 for doe, 1250 buck). Pigs were free as well as varmits.
It was a hoot, plenty of game.
I've seen meat hunts at other outfitters that were reasonably priced. One place I remember was like 6 does(different species) for $1k.. That Axis meat is THEE best game I've ever eaten.

Great looking deer and well mounted :)
Those chital are sure good on the plate too, and plenty a meal to be had from a good sized stag :)

Jindy,
I took the stag to the slaughter house and still got 144 lbs of PROCESSED meat. We figured it weighed about 250 in the field. It took 3 of us to get it into the truck. Wonderful meat, very tasty.
