Does anyone know the formula for figuring the kinetic energy of your arrow? I saw the formula a few years back and seem to have forgotten and lost it. I remember it was something like:

(fps*fps*arrow weight)/ ? = kinetic energy

Thanks for any help you might can be

ICS Hunter,

first off square the speed of the arrow then multiply it by the weight of the arrow in grains then divide the resulting numbers by 450.240

speed x speed x arrow weight in grains divided by 450.240 = given energy

Easy Huh !

even easier you can go to www.bowjackson.com and use their online calculator. just punch in your arrow speed and weight and it does all the math for you. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-biggrin-aqua.gif

the Gold Tip web site has a kinetic energy calculator.
