One-day workshops on off-road driving skills will be offered to SUV and other four-wheel-drive owners, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (or later, for those having too much fun) on Sept. 28 or Sept. 29 at Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area, located about 20 miles east of Sacramento. The class combines indoor training with hands-on driving of a rugged course. Two major themes are vehicular safety and environmental sensitivity.
