View Full Version : swivel help needed
Have any of you guys installed the lower swivel on a beretta shotgun with the synthetic stock? It looks like a big wood screw. Do you pre-drill a small hole first? I was going to put it halfway between the trigger and the pad.

Pep1,
Yes you drill a pilot hole first to get the best results , drill the hole the size of the studs lesser thread diameter
mount the swivel stud approx. 2 1/2 to 3 inches from the face of the recoil pad as this gives the proper prospective for the sling to work
be careful as some of the synthetic stocks are hollow and are pretty thin where you would normally place the swivel stud
if i run into this situation i normally remove the recoil pad and using acraglas, build up a ''sleeper'' inside the stock for the stud to screw into for a better hold (acraglas is an epoxy based bedding compound sold by Brownells)
Good Luck !
