Yeah, good luck you Whitetail Archers. I'm still trying for my first archery kill. Has been quiet in these parts. Indiana and Michigan deer archery opened on the 1st. A guy I work with hit a doe Wednesday night, but couldn't find her.

Opening weekend to include Monday mornings hunt was slow - was nice to finally be out in the woods enjoying sitting in the tree enjoying wildlife. Things changed on Tuesday night though, like a lightswitch the woods came alive.
Last night Tuesday October 7th 5:25pm my brother and his brand new 82 Airborne took flight on this full size doe. He was set up 15 yards inside the woods from a grown over field and about 30 yards uphill from the swamp. A yearling came in first, she skirted between the field and the swamp and behind her was mama. Great near broadside shot, double lung, she didnt go more than 60 yards and crashed out.
