Precision-Archer Randy Oitker To Perform At The Sportsman Channel's NHFday Event

8/11/08

National Cable network to host youth-oriented outdoors event on September 27th, 2008

New Berlin, Wisconsin --- Precision archer, Randy Oitker Jr. of Platteville, Illinois will perform his world-record stunts at The Sportsman Channel's National Hunting and Fishing Day Celebration at Wern Valley in Waukesha, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Performance times are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Oitker has been shooting since he was eight years old and performing at events since he was 14. This past February, Oitker broke his own world record by shooting FIVE arrows at once in FIVE different balloons at the Eastern Sports & Outdoors Show in Harrisburg, Pa. "I like making it more of a challenge for me to come up with something increasingly difficult for everyone to enjoy," he told a local news station in February. The bow and arrows used during that demonstration are now retired in Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museum.

In September, Oitker, sponsored by Cabela's, will demonstrate that world-record stunt as well as perform his trademark "Lifesaver Shots," by shooting four arrows at once and striking four Lifesavers 16 inches apart.

The entire event is free and open to the public! Attendees are encouraged to introduce someone new to the outdoors. Participate in endless hands-on activities. Fishing, shooting, dog training, calling demonstrations, outdoor crafts, raffles, door prizes, seminars and so much more!

Sponsors for the event include Cabelas; Bergemann&Sons; Time Warner Cable; Sportsman's Warehouse; Wern Valley Sportsmen's Club; Winchester; United Sportsmen's Youth Foundation.

About NHFday: Congress formally appointed the annual observance of National Hunting and Fishing Day in 1972 to commemorate the conservation benefits and leadership of hunters and anglers.
