I just got back from a fishing trip to Sac River (South Fork). I spent most of my time between Gumboot Lake and Lake Siskiyou. The fishing was great. When I was leaving the DF&G just dumped a bunch of rainbows all over the area. If anyone wants to catch a bunch of fish in beautiful country it’s worth the drive.
I used green elk hair caddis, orange stimulators and pheasant tail nymphs. This was my first trip using the stimulator/nymph combo when most the fish went after the stimulator. I don’t know why but they loved that Big-O orange bug floating in the water.
